Merry Christmas

So, for most of us, another Christmas is over. (Orthodox Christmas is January 7th). Christmas Eve dinner with Mom, the Brother, his Lady, Hubby and the Kidling: perogi and fish. Mom and Kidling did the Perogi. Brother did the fish….and he and Hubby did the cooking.  Today, I did the cooking for me, Mom, Kidling and Hubby: turkey and the trimmings. The feasts have been eaten, and cleared up after; the pressies have been exchanged; the detritus dealt with. I have “Melodies of Christmas” on, which is more than a Christmas concert: it supports the Children’s’ Cancer Center at Albany Medical Center. I have my family home for two more days…and I have to work both. I have enough left overs to get me through the entire month of January, I think.

I have noticed I don’t get as into the holiday season as I used to. Is it because I am getting old? Or just because I am getting jaded?
