Perfect December Day

Yesterday was one of those cold, mostly clear, BEAUTIFUL December days I love so much. Mom and I almost always go together for our Christmas trees, because my tree is part of my birthday present. This year, we went to George’s Market Nursery ( https://www.georges-market.com/ ) to get them. Last year, that’s where she and the Kidling found them, and this year did not disappoint. Two wonderful 5′ tabletop trees already in the base, already wrapped for transport. I will be decorating mine this afternoon.  If you’re in the area, the staff is fantastic; they have way more than just pretty trees; and Santa is on hand this weekend and next.

I also found something I swore I wasn’t getting any more of: a winter angel. I have named her “Adirondack” because her dress and wings look like they are made of Paper Birch bark. Adirondack Angel

Today is promising to be another of those cold, clear, beautiful December days.  I hope to get a few pictures, get the tree decorated, and do the laundry. Right now I am enjoying a mug of Celestial Seasons ‘Vermont Maple Ginger’ tea. YUM! Barely needs any sweetener!

This time of year is full of memories and traditions and sometimes that all gets to be too much for some of us. Take time to relax and sit back. Watch a Hallmark Christmas movie, or any favorite holiday special. Have a mug of hot cocoa. Sing some carols. And if you need to, sit by yourself and have a cry.

No matter which of the many winter holidays you celebrate, may it be filled with the warmth of love, the light of faith, and the joy of family and friends.
