Getting Ready for Halloween

It’s coming. Ghosts and ghouls and witches and black cats…..
At the end of every September since I was in high school, a special Halloween store has opened at Colonie Center. Last year, it is where we got the make-up for Kidling’s Weeping Angel costume. Well, this being her Senior Year, when everything must be PERFECT, we went looking for additions for the Medusa costume, and something for her to wear to school on the day itself. (As she pointed out, sitting and walking stairs with a snake tail wasn’t going to be too great an idea).

No store. Not anywhere in the mall. There is a new clothing store (Yeah, another one) in the place where seasonals used to reside. Killed that plan. Off to Wallyworld, where she did find a costume for Halloween day. Good thing I already knew I was going to have to make most of the Medusa. Got the stuffing for the tail, but no wire to form it. Need to get white material to make the Greek equivalent of a toga for the top part. My hands are green from dying an old sheet to make the snake part.

And once I get Halloween covered, I need to prep for Samhain for the same day. At least that is a lot easier, and is more food shopping than anything else.
