Civil Law trumps Religious Law

Normally, I don’t like to get into “discussions” on religion or politics. People all have their own opinions, which is fine….until those people start trying to interfere with my rights, as an American citizen, to follow my religion, and live in safety under CIVIL laws in a land that isn’t a theocracy.

“American” Islamic leader Mustafa Carroll has gone on video record as saying “Following the law of the land is part of Sharia,And we follow the law of the land. In fact, Muslims, if we’re practicing Muslims, we are above the law of the land. The law doesn’t affect us at all.” (according to a 2015 article in the Texas Tribune. )
Trying double-speak much, Mr. Carroll? You either follow the law of the land, or you don’t. Your religion does NOT give you a pass on following the laws of the village/city/state/country you live in. NO ONE’S religion allows them to get out of adhering to the civil laws of the land. That is how so many varied religions, and religious sects, can live in some sort of harmony in one country.

You don’t like it, Mr. Carroll, you and anyone who thinks like you can pack your bags and move your narrow-minded asses to some country under a theocracy suitable to your religious beliefs.

The world is exploding daily with people claiming they are being persecuted for their religious beliefs. Maybe if you didn’t act like such arrogant bastards and stop trying to shove your beliefs down everyone else’s throats, you’d be left alone.
