Review: Lionsgate Marvel animated features

Okay, so one of the best things about getting back the tax refunds is getting some goodies. This year, that included an 8 film collection of Marvel animated features, that includes Ultimate Avengers, Ultimate Avengers 2, Next Avengers, The Invincible Iron Man, Thor,Planet Hulk, Doctor Strange Hulk vs Thor, and Hulk vs Wolverine.

Just the thing for a Sunday marathon!

These were all done by Lionsgate. And I will tell you, even if some of the story lines were a little hooky, the animation was consistently good, the vocal talents were age-appropriate, and they were basically just fun.

I won’t say all of the animation was at the same level. Some was good, some was really good. Different artists, so some slightly different styles, and it becomes a question of tastes. The voices of children sounded like children; adults sounded like adults; elders sounded old, wise, and sometimes tired. (Although an aged Tony Stark was not something I ever thought to see.)

It’s been a Sunday well spent… total space-out mode!
