ap·a·thy (p-th)
1. Lack of interest or concern, especially regarding matters of general importance or appeal; indifference.
2. Lack of emotion or feeling; impassiveness.

I think most people feel apathetic about some things. Some people feel apathy in general from time to time. Some medicos claim that apathy is a symptom of schizophrenia. (OMG, I just spelled that without looking or needing to correct it!) I am thinking it is a side effect of parts of modern society. Not the “me first” part, and definitely not the “Helpers of the World Unite” section, but that middle of the road area where people bust ass trying to make ends meet and maybe a little more. I get apathetic about housework when I spend two or three days scrubbing from ceiling to floor, only to come in a few hours later to find a mess because certain people can’t be bothered to put away clothes or carry dirty dishes to the kitchen, or even put trash in a bin!
