Addictions aren’t always illegal, although they can probably all be considered health threats. There are people addicted to the internet. There are people addicted to fitness programs.
My addiction isn’t so begien. I am addicted to tobacco. When I am busy doing things, it isn’t so bad. I went the entire day of our trip to 6 Flags without one, and barely noticed. But when me and the Kidling are home, and most of the chores are done … I CRAVE smokes. When I am at the computer, or when I am writing… I crave smokes. Chewing gum just doesn’t cut it as a substitute.
I am edgy. And when I am edgy, I get a bit ruthless. I did a LOT of pruning on my FB page: friends, groups, pages no longer relevant to me. If someone has been on my FB for a year, and I have had no update or message from them in that time, bye-bye they went…. if they were someone I friended for the sake of a game I no longer play… bye-bye they went.
When I get like this, the Kidling hides. My temper isn’t “nice” to start with, and when I am edgy, I lash out even easier.
I thank all the powers known to man I ever got hooked on anything harder than tobacco… not even booze. This is hard enough. And it will be late Wednesday at the very earliest before I have money to get a pack of smokes. And the Kidling is out of school for the summer. And I am not working Monday or Tuesday. It so is NOT going to be a good week in the Wolf Den.
