What happened Monday in Boston was a tragedy on so many levels. It has affected nearly everyone. One young man is dead, and I have just been informed the other is in custody. Fine. LET THE AUTHORITIES DO THEIR JOBS! We do NOT need a play-by-play, round-the-clock report on it. When the major stations refuse to show anything else, they are not doing us any favors.Children do not have to see that. I don’t want to see it. For large blocks of these broadcasts, they weren’t even showing us anything new; they were ‘consulting with “experts” ‘ on whys and hows and whens. We KNOW how and when. The only one who can tell us why is the nineteen year old boy they now have in custody. And people cheering? Really? Would you cheer if it was YOUR child? Yes, I get the fact they are glad the persons responsible for Monday’s deaths and destruction are out of the loop now. But I can’t cheer for the loss of life, for lives destroyed… which includes the innocent friends and families of these suspects.
Instead of glorying in anything like that, try making your corner of the world better…for your children and their friends. West, Texas, also suffered an unbearable tragedy this week. They now need building materials….and new fire trucks. Do something about THAT.
